What a roller coaster ride we have been on. I kid you not these last 5-1/2 months have been tiresome for both Meg and I. As a parent you believe you have this ideal vision of your child's life and how it should unfold. Then without notice that picturesque view becomes distorted and painfully confusing. Thank you to all those family members and friends who have reached out and just loved our son. The manner in which he was welcomed home, the guidance offered to console a broken heart, and the countless acts of charity will never be forgotten. We are grateful for modern day medicine and pray fervently for Elder Graybills health as he returns and begins part II of his mission. Prior to resubmitting his papers, he was asked were he would like to go (hinting of a possible return to Colombia). His response was, "this might be my journey in life, but it is through my obedience to Gods will that I will get to where I need to go." Here's to never giving up. God speed my son...
We have not heard from Garrett yet, but here is a letter from President Tateoka. Enjoy
Sister Tateoka and I were so pleased to greet your missionary at the Portland Airport! Attached you will find a photo of your newly arrived missionary. We thank you once again for sending your missionary to us. We will take good care of them and know the sacred trust you place in ourselves and in the Lord.
Kind Regards,
Oregon Salem Mission
I love these two Pakeha's
