This last week has been jam packed. We have been working hard to get Cory prepared for baptism, we had exchanges, and it was the last week of the transfer.
So Tuesday night we started our exchange with the 3 Lakes Elders. I went into their area with Elder Miller. He has been out for just under 3 months. (He is still is in training.)
We didn’t have anything planned for the day so we got to spend all day talking to people on the streets. It was so fun....
Then we had a couple lessons with Cory to help prepare him for the baptism. He was so excited all week. It was super cool to see him prepare. Well Saturday finally came around and we were just waiting for 7 to come around. Finally, it came around and the baptismal service started. Well, you know the rest of the story. Cory was baptized. And the next day confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ.
With all this excitement going on, we forgot that transfer calls were happening. We were walking out to our car after the baptism and I felt a buzz in my pocket. I checked and we had missed a call from President Tateoka.
We called back and he told me I will be white washing Forest Grove Spanish as a District Leader. (White washing means going into the area with a new companion who wasn't there before.) My new comp is Elder Western. He's been out for about 10 months and we share the same trainer. Elder Beard!!!
We are super excited to get there and get to work.
It has been a good 6 weeks here in the YSA but now it's time to get back into Spanish and I am hyped!!!
Spiritual thought: Alma 37:17
17 For he will fulfill all his promises which he shall make unto you, for he has fulfilled his promises which he has made unto our fathers
God will always come through on His end of the promise. Or in other words, covenant. We just need to keep our side of the promise. God cannot go against His word. That would be against His nature.
Keep that in mind when you get frustrated that you aren't seeing blessings in your life. But also remember that God allows us to have trials because that's what shapes us in life. So, humble yourselves and kneel. Use prayer to speak to God, in the name of Christ. This way you can come to know what you need to do in order to receive the blessings.
Love y’all
Elder Graybill
